Warriors Blow Out Kings 114-97

Golden State Dominates Sacramento in Wire-to-Wire Victory

By Ezra Shaw, The Athletic NBA Staff

The Golden State Warriors cruised to a commanding 114-97 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Monday night at Chase Center. Stephen Curry led the way for the Warriors with 27 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists, while Klay Thompson added 23 points and 5 rebounds. For the Kings, De'Aaron Fox had 22 points and 6 assists, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Warriors' hot shooting and suffocating defense.

The Warriors jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, shooting 52.4% from the field in the first half to take a 62-47 lead at the break. Curry was particularly impressive, hitting 6 of his 10 shots from three-point range in the first half. The Kings stayed within striking distance in the third quarter, but the Warriors pulled away in the fourth, outscoring Sacramento 32-19 to seal the victory.

The Warriors' defense was also a major factor in the win, holding the Kings to just 38.5% shooting from the field and forcing 15 turnovers. Sacramento's usually potent offense was held in check all night, with Fox and Domantas Sabonis combining for just 34 points on 14-of-38 shooting.

With the win, the Warriors improve to 47-24 on the season and remain in the hunt for the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference. The Kings fall to 32-40 with the loss and are now 2.5 games back of the final play-in spot in the West.
