STUTTGART, Germany (AP) - Hungary forward Barnabas Varga was rushed to the hospital in stable condition after a brutal three-man collision during the EURO 2024 group stage finale against Scotland on Friday.

Varga collapsed to the pitch in the second half after an apparent clash with Scotland's goalkeeper Angus Gunn following a free kick. The incident left Varga unconscious and required immediate medical attention.

Despite the distressing injury, Hungary managed to secure a dramatic 1-0 victory over Scotland in the dying minutes of the match. Kevin Csoboth scored the winning goal in the 100th minute, sending Scotland crashing out of the tournament.

Varga's condition has since been stabilized, but he remains under observation in hospital. The extent of his injuries is still being assessed, and it is unclear if he will be able to continue participating in the tournament.
